It came as a surprise to many that Eric Kendricks was the first Viking to ink a new deal this offseason. With Eric Kendricks, Anthony Barr, Stefon Diggs, and Danielle Hunter all primed for an extension, the Minnesota Vikings decided that their leading tackler for the past three years should get locked up first.
The contract details have yet to be released in full but for now, we know the deal is worth 50 million dollars over 5 years, with 25 million being guaranteed. This was probably a slight overpay as middle linebacker is one of the easier positions to replace, but nonetheless, I am happy he is going to be a Viking while our Super Bowl window is in full bloom.
It will be up to Rick Spielman and the Viking’s front office to make sure the guys mentioned above get paid as well. The Vikings future is looking bright. I cannot wait for next season.
